This OE Match windscreen wiper spindle gearbox is a replacement wiper drive component for Porsche 356 Pre-A models. It forms part of the mechanical wiper linkage system and helps transfer motion from the wiper motor to the wiper spindle, allowing the windscreen wipers to operate correctly.
Sold individually, Fits left or right wiper arm
Fits:
Porsche 356 pre A - 1950 to 1955

The wiper spindle gearbox helps convert and direct the movement from the wiper mechanism to the wiper arm spindle. It supports smooth wiper arm movement across the windscreen and helps keep the wiper system correctly aligned and functioning as intended.
This component fits within the windscreen wiper mechanism, connecting the wiper drive linkage to the wiper spindle assembly. It is located behind the front scuttle/dash area where the wiper linkage and spindle system are mounted.
Functions
• Transfers drive from the wiper linkage to the wiper spindle
• Helps operate the windscreen wiper arm smoothly
• Supports correct wiper arm sweep and movement
• Helps maintain alignment within the wiper mechanism
• Reduces play, binding, or uneven motion in the wiper system
• Provides an OE Match replacement for worn or damaged original components
• Suitable for Porsche 356 Pre-A restoration and wiper system repair
Why Replace This Part?
Original wiper spindle gearboxes can wear, seize, corrode, or develop excessive play over time. A worn or damaged gearbox may cause slow, uneven, noisy, or failed wiper operation. Replacing this part helps restore reliable wiper movement and keeps the classic wiper system working correctly.
When to replace
• The wipers move unevenly, slowly, or not at all
• There is excessive play at the wiper spindle
• The wiper arm sweep is incorrect or inconsistent
• The gearbox is seized, corroded, worn, or damaged
• The wiper linkage has been removed for service
• The wiper system is being rebuilt or restored
• The original part is missing or no longer operates smoothly
