Manufactured to Porsche's original glazing specification, the windscreen provides the driver's primary forward field of vision while also incorporating the correct provision around the upper central area for the applicable camera system.
The glass forms an important structural, visibility and driver-assistance component of the vehicle.
It provides protection from wind, rain, road debris and airborne objects while maintaining a clear and optically correct view of the road ahead.
On camera-equipped vehicles, the exact glass design is particularly important because the forward-facing camera must look through a precisely defined section of the windscreen.
Using the correct camera-compatible windscreen helps maintain the correct camera mounting position, viewing area and optical characteristics required by the vehicle's associated assistance systems.
Replacement is required when the original windscreen is cracked, severely chipped, delaminated, heavily scratched, optically distorted or otherwise damaged beyond safe repair.
