In 1979, Porsche revealed a concept iteration of the 924 at the Frankfurt Auto Show, adorned with Carrera badges. Just a year later, in 1980, Porsche launched the 924 Carrera GT, signaling their intent to enter the 924 into racing competitions. To meet homologation regulations, the 924 Carrera GT and later the 924 Carrera GTS were offered as road-legal vehicles, boasting power outputs of 210 and 245 hp (157 and 183 kW), respectively. Clubsport versions of the GTS were also available, generating 280 hp (209 kW; 284 PS) and equipped with a factory-
