The refreshed 991, known as the 991.2, sported a redesigned front end with side air blades and narrow LED lights, complemented by double fillets and an additional fin in the main air intake. Standard 20” light-alloy wheels adorned the sides, while sleek door handles without recess covers added to its streamlined appearance. At the rear, high-gloss chrome exhausts distinguished the turbo version, while stainless steel marked the Turbo S.
Under the hood, the 991.2 turbo 3.8 received enhancements like different inlet ports, injection nozzles, and higher fuel pressure compared to its predecessor. The Turbo S featured turbochargers with larger compressors, offering increased performance. The 991.2 turbo Cabriolet boasted 20 hp more than its predecessor, now delivering 533 bhp @ 6400 rpm and torque of 524 ft lbs @ 2250 rpm, paired with a standard 7-speed automatic (dual-clutch) gearbox.
Inside, the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation system featured a 7” touch-screen, now including Google Maps with real-time traffic information and Google StreetView. A 555-watt Bose sound system with 12 speakers was standard, with an optional 821-watt Burmeister system available for audiophiles.
