The Porsche 911 turbo S underwent a mid-cycle update, transitioning to the 991.2 911 turbo S. Alongside styling tweaks, lighting enhancements, and aerodynamic refinements seen across the lineup, it received a significant upgrade in its infotainment system.
The standard Porsche Communication Management (PCM) now features a 7” touch-screen with Google Maps, real-time traffic info, and Google StreetView—a notable improvement from previous iterations. Standard audio is provided by a 555-watt Bose sound system with 12 speakers, while an optional Burmester 821-watt setup is also available, marking a substantial step up in audio quality.
Performance-wise, the turbo S sees gains thanks to special turbochargers with larger blades and a modified housing, exclusive to the S variant. The 3.8ltr direct-injected, variable-vane, turbocharged flat-six engine pumps out an impressive 580 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque (553 lb-ft in temporary overboost mode). Ceramic composite brakes, standard on Turbo S models, ensure robust stopping power.
Despite its performance pedigree, the turbo S remains practical for daily use, boasting ample cargo space and four seats. With its 3.8ltr twin-turbocharged flat-six paired with Porsche's PDK dual-clutch transmission and AWD system, it sprints from 0 to 60 mph in a blistering 2.9 seconds and tops out at 205 mph—delivering hypercar-level performance in a package suitable for everyday driving.
