X series pistons are designed to fit the air cooled Porsche 911 engines including 3.0 Liter SC, 3.2 Liter Carrera, 3.6 Liter and 3.8 Liter RSR.
Manufactured from 2618 alloy, the pistons utilize a narrow pin boss forging and come with heavy duty pins for extra strength. Pistons include full 3-D under crown milling, normally only found on custom pistons, insuring the lightest possible piston. Each piston features anti-detonation grooves, accumulator grooves, double pin oil with broach, our wire lox system with installation tool and a set of CPN rings, consisting of gas nitride top ring with napier cut second.
X style forgings covers 4 bore sizes ranging from 95 MM, 98 mm, 100 MM and 102 MM. This complete package is the most modern available for the vintage 911 engine.

CP-Carrillo Forged Pistons - Motorsport-Grade Porsche Engine Internals
CP-Carrillo Pistons are high-performance forged engine components designed for extreme power, reliability, and precision. Manufactured using advanced forging and CNC machining processes, these pistons are engineered to withstand high compression, elevated cylinder pressures, and sustained high-RPM operation—making them ideal for performance-built and motorsport Porsche engines.
Available from Design911, CP-Carrillo pistons are trusted by professional engine builders worldwide for their strength, thermal stability, and precise tolerances, providing a robust foundation for high-output engine builds.
What Do CP-Carrillo Pistons Do?
CP-Carrillo pistons convert combustion energy into mechanical force while maintaining strength and stability under extreme conditions.
Core Functions:
- Withstand high cylinder pressures and temperatures.
- Maintain precise piston-to-bore clearances.
- Support high compression and forced induction.
- Enable safe high-RPM operation.
- Improve overall engine durability and performance.
High-quality pistons are essential for safe and reliable power delivery.
Why Do Standard Pistons Fail?
Factory cast pistons are designed for standard power output
and daily driving. Failures can occur when engines are pushed beyond factory
limits due to:
- Excessive heat causing cracking or melting.
- Detonation damaging piston crowns and ring lands.
- Increased boost or compression exceeding material strength.
- Fatigue from sustained high-RPM operation.
- Insufficient strength for motorsport or track use.
Piston failure often leads to catastrophic engine damage.
Why Upgrade to CP-Carrillo Pistons?
CP-Carrillo pistons are engineered to handle extreme engine demands safely.
Upgrade Benefits:
- Forged aluminium construction for maximum strength.
- Optimised crown and skirt designs for durability.
- Superior resistance to detonation and heat.
- Ideal for turbocharged, supercharged, and race engines.
- Trusted in professional motorsport applications.
Upgrading to CP-Carrillo pistons provides confidence and reliability in high-performance Porsche builds.
