In 2022, Porsche introduced the base 9J1 Taycan model in the Sport Turismo body style, offering an intriguing option in the Taycan lineup at a price point lower than that of a 911 or Panamera. This entry-level variant features one less motor than the Taycan 4S and comes with varying horsepower and torque figures depending on the choice between the standard 79-kWh battery or the optional 93.4-kWh Performance Battery Plus, which boosts power to 469 hp and 263 lb-ft of torque with launch control.

The 9J1 Taycan Sport Turismo distinguishes itself with a higher roofline and redesigned rear end, providing a larger boot and additional headspace for rear passengers compared to the standard Taycan. Inspired by the Panamera Sport Turismo models, this wagon-style EV aims to appeal to a broader demographic, offering practicality and versatility without the crossover cladding and higher suspension of the Cross Turismo variant.

Powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor, the base Taycan Sport Turismo offers a respectable 0 to 60 mph sprint time of 5.4 seconds. Range varies from approximately 269 miles with the standard battery to up to 306 miles with the optional larger battery pack. The spacious trunk, which can hold up to 15.7 cubic feet of cargo, combined with additional storage in the frunk, enhances its practicality for everyday use.
