DesignTek parts for Porsche models from Design911
A Quick Look at DesignTek
DesignTek information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.
Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche
Where DesignTek is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.
- Typical reasons to choose these parts include fixing common wear points, returning a Porsche to standard performance, and managing running costs on older cars.
- Common triggers for replacement are leaks, knocks, worn mounts, poor ride quality, and intermittent operation of affected components.
- Watch for real-world symptoms such as hesitation, flat spots, noisy or restricted intake, warning lights, rough running, and reduced fuel economy.
- Before upgrading or tuning, ensure underlying mechanical issues are resolved rather than masked by new parts.
- When servicing or modifying, inspect adjacent components at the same time to avoid repeat labour or missed wear items.
- Check what fittings, seals, and hardware are included with each part and add any required extras so the job can be completed in one go.
Browse by Category
If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.
Engine Tuning — Engine tuning components for Porsche are typically used to improve drivability, throttle response, and power delivery, or to support other hardware changes where listed.
- Confirm the engine’s health and check for boost or vacuum leaks before any tuning work.
- Review sensor data, oil and coolant temperatures, and fuel delivery to ensure the car is mechanically sound.
Air Filters — Air filters for Porsche applications help maintain correct airflow while protecting the engine from dust and debris, with changes usually driven by routine service or performance goals.
- Replace filters more frequently if the car is used in dusty or harsh environments.
- Avoid over-oiling reusable filters to reduce the risk of sensor contamination where fitted.
Air Induction Kits — Air induction kits for Porsche are selected to alter airflow and sound and, where design allows, to reduce restriction or manage intake temperatures as part of a wider tuning package.
- Ensure the kit maintains proper sealing and sensible intake air temperatures to protect drivability.
- Check mounting security and routing after installation to minimise rattles, hot-air ingestion, or water exposure.
Service Parts — Service parts for Porsche are changed as part of scheduled maintenance to protect the engine and supporting systems, helping preserve performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Use correct-specification oils, filters, plugs, and fluids and keep a clear record of what has been replaced.
- Shorten service intervals if the car sees frequent short journeys or hard use.
Air Filters — Replacement and performance air filters for Porsche applications are used to maintain clean, consistent airflow and can also support specific performance or motorsport needs where appropriate.
- Inspect the airbox or housing when changing the filter and ensure the seal seats evenly all the way around.
- If a performance filter is used, follow the maker’s cleaning and re-oiling instructions carefully.

The DesignTek stainless steel exhaust heat exchangers are a high-quality aftermarket upgrade designed for the Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera (1984–1989). Combining exhaust flow efficiency with integrated cabin heating functionality, these units provide a reliable and performance-oriented replacement for original factory heat exchangers.
Sold as a pair
Fits:
Porsche 911 3.2L 1984 - 1989
Heat exchangers play a dual role in classic Porsche engines - they channel exhaust gases away from the engine while transferring heat to the cabin heating system. Over time, original units can corrode or crack due to constant heat cycles and exposure to road conditions, leading to reduced heating performance, exhaust leaks, and potential safety concerns.
Manufactured from durable stainless steel, these DesignTek heat exchangers offer improved resistance to corrosion and long-term durability compared to older mild steel designs. The optimised internal pipework supports better exhaust gas flow, which can contribute to improved engine efficiency and a more responsive driving experience. High-quality materials also help withstand extreme temperatures and vibrations typical of air-cooled flat-six engines.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement, these heat exchangers integrate with standard exhaust systems and heating components, making them suitable for both restoration projects and performance upgrades. Ideal for maintaining originality while benefiting from modern materials, they deliver a balance of reliability, performance, and classic Porsche functionality.

Heating Pipe This a replica of the Porsche Germany RS lightweight factory heat duct that was used on all 3.6 litre special RS lightweight rare cars. The Porsche part is ugly roto-formed cheap plastic with parting lines whereas accurate replica is carbon fiber. Saves 8 to 9lbs about 4Kg from the rear of all 964's and 993's. Will not work on C2 Turbos/965 cars. Replaces blower motor assembly and ductwork and still allows plenty of heat just like the factory RS part. Ultra cool clear coated real carbon fiber tube that really cleans up engine bay and makes working on engine easy.
Air induction pipe: This a replica of the Porsche Germany RS lightweight factory air duct that was used on all 3.6 liter special RS lightweight race cars. The air duct is directed up towards the boot lid where air is forces into the air duct and then into the air box. Simple do it yourself installation that gives you the RS style engine look.
Please Note:
All late model 993's 1996-98 (Varioram engines) require the 964 early type fan air guide shroud (as shown on exploded image)

Price is per seat
Performance Styling with Everyday Practicality
The 911 Recline Track Bucket Sports Seat combines
motorsport-inspired design with daily usability. Finished in black PVC leather
with classic houndstooth centre panels, this seat delivers retro performance
styling with modern comfort and adjustability.
Fits most 911's, 996, Boxster, 997, Cayman
Designed for performance enthusiasts, track-day drivers and
custom builds, this reclining bucket seat enhances driving control while
upgrading interior aesthetics.
These
sports seats are manufactured for all makes and models. Due to the universal
nature of this product some modification or alteration maybe required to the
seat or car to ensure correct fitting.
What a Track Bucket Sports Seat Does
Unlike standard factory seats, a track bucket sports seat is engineered to provide enhanced lateral support during aggressive driving. Deep side bolsters and supportive cushioning help hold the driver securely in position under heavy cornering, braking and acceleration.
Key benefits include:
- Improved driver stability during spirited driving
- Enhanced feedback and control
- Reduced driver fatigue on track or long journeys
- Better posture and seating position
- Increased interior sporting appeal
The reclining mechanism allows adjustment for comfort and accessibility, making it suitable for both performance builds and road-driven vehicles.
Why Upgrade to a Track Bucket Seat
Standard factory seats are often designed for comfort rather than performance. During hard driving, insufficient lateral support can cause the driver to shift position, reducing steering precision and overall confidence.
Upgrading to a 911 Recline sports seat is ideal if you:
- Participate in track days or performance driving
- Want improved cornering support
- Are building a custom performance interior
- Prefer a retro motorsport-inspired aesthetic
- Need a reclining sports seat for dual road and track use
The houndstooth centre design adds a classic motorsport look, popular in heritage Porsche and retro performance builds.
Premium Construction and Design
This 911 Recline track bucket seat features:
- Durable black PVC leather outer panels
- Houndstooth centre inserts for classic performance styling
- Integrated high side bolsters for improved lateral support
- Reclining adjustment mechanism
- Sport-focused seating profile
The seat is designed to balance comfort, durability and performance, making it suitable for daily use while still offering track-level support.
Ideal Applications
- Track day builds
- Performance road cars
- Classic-inspired custom interiors
- Motorsport-style interior upgrades
- Replacement for worn factory sports seats
When paired with appropriate seat rails and mounting hardware, this bucket seat transforms both the driving experience and interior appearance.
- These seats come complete with bottom sliders and side brackets. You will need to order extraCode: SB017DR (LEFT SEAT) and SB017PA (RIGHT SEAT) for seat fixing adaptors for 986/996/997/987/CAYMAN.

- Improved driver stability during spirited driving

- Increased interior sporting appeal

- Participate in track days or performance driving
- Want improved cornering support
- Are building a custom performance interior
- Prefer a retro motorsport-inspired aesthetic
The houndstooth centre design adds a classic motorsport look, popular in heritage Porsche and retro performance builds.

DesignTek Carbon Ceramic Front / Rear Brake Pads are engineered specifically for use with carbon ceramic brake discs, delivering consistent, fade-resistant braking performance for both high-performance road driving and track use.
Unlike conventional brake pads designed for iron discs, these pads use a carbon-ceramic-compatible friction compound that operates effectively across a wide temperature range without damaging the disc surface. The result is strong, progressive braking feel, excellent modulation, and stable performance under repeated heavy braking.
Ideal for drivers seeking a refined street braking experience with the durability and performance required for spirited or track-focused driving, DesignTek brake pads offer a reliable OE-replacement solution for Porsche carbon ceramic braking systems.
