The TEXTAR Rear Brake Pads are replacement friction components designed for compatible vehicle braking systems. Installed in the rear brake calipers, the pads press against the brake discs when the brakes are applied, creating the friction required to slow and stop the vehicle.

Brake pads are normal wear components and gradually lose friction material every time the brakes are used. Replacing worn pads at the correct interval is essential for maintaining dependable braking performance and protecting the brake discs and other braking components from unnecessary damage.
What This Product Does:
Rear brake pads form part of the vehicle's disc braking system.
When the brake pedal is pressed, hydraulic pressure operates the brake calipers. The calipers then press the brake pads against the rotating brake discs.
The friction generated between the pads and discs converts the vehicle's kinetic energy into heat, slowing the rotation of the wheels and reducing vehicle speed.
The rear brake pads help:
- Slow and stop the vehicle
- Provide controlled braking force
- Support balanced front-to-rear braking
- Maintain predictable braking response
- Support vehicle stability during braking
- Work with the brake discs and calipers to provide consistent braking performance
Although the front brakes often handle a significant proportion of braking load, the rear brakes remain essential to the overall balance and performance of the braking system.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Brake pads are designed to wear and require periodic replacement.
Common signs of worn or deteriorated rear brake pads include:
- Reduced brake pad thickness
- Brake wear warning light where equipped
- Squealing or squeaking
- Grinding or scraping noises
- Reduced braking performance
- Longer stopping distances
- Changes in brake pedal feel
- Vibration or judder during braking
- Uneven braking
- One pad wearing faster than another
- Visible cracking or deterioration of friction material
- Friction material contaminated with oil or brake fluid
- Damage caused by excessive heat
Brake condition should be inspected rather than relying exclusively on warning lights or noise.
Why Replacement Matters:
Rear brake pads are safety-critical wear components.
Replacing worn or damaged pads helps:
- Restore dependable braking performance
- Maintain predictable braking response
- Maintain correct braking balance
- Reduce stopping-distance deterioration caused by worn friction material
- Prevent metal-to-metal contact
- Protect the brake discs from avoidable damage
- Reduce excessive brake noise
- Restore confidence during braking
- Maintain the overall integrity of the braking system
Delaying replacement after the pads reach their service limit can turn a routine brake service into a more extensive and expensive repair.
