What Does the RS Ducktail Do?
The original Porsche 911 Carrera RS Ducktail was developed to improve the car's high-speed aerodynamic behaviour while also helping manage airflow around the rear of the vehicle.
Its raised rear profile alters airflow over the engine lid and reduces aerodynamic lift at the rear compared with a conventional flat engine lid.
Beyond its aerodynamic purpose, the Ducktail has become one of the most recognisable styling features associated with classic high-performance Porsche 911 models.
