Performance Upgrade Chip – Varioram with Standard Flywheel and Clutch for Euro Version (55-Pin DME)
Unlock the full performance potential of your 1995-1998
Porsche 993 Varioram (European specification) with the OE Match Performance
Upgrade Chip. Developed exclusively for Euro Varioram models (excluding US
specification vehicles) fitted with the 55-pin Bosch Motronic DME
0.261.203.678, this advanced calibration transforms the performance and
drivability of Porsche's final air-cooled flat-six.
Fits:
- Porsche 993 (911) C2 1995-97
- Porsche 993 (911) C4 1995-97
- Porsche 993 (911) C2S 1995-97
- Porsche 993 (911) C4S 1995-97
Suitable for manual and Tiptronic transmissions, the OE Match Performance Chip delivers stronger low and mid-range torque, sharper throttle response and smoother power delivery while maintaining factory reliability.
Unlock the Hidden Performance of the Varioram Engine
The Varioram induction system provides excellent flexibility, but the factory Bosch Motronic calibration leaves significant performance untapped. OE Match software has been extensively developed to remove the familiar hesitation below 4,000 rpm, allowing the 3.6-litre engine to produce stronger pulling power from low RPM while delivering noticeably improved throttle response.
Benefits include:
- Increased low and mid-range torque
- Sharper throttle response
- Eliminates the factory sub-4,000 rpm flat spot
- Improved acceleration throughout the rev range
- Dyno-proven horsepower gains
- Smoother, more responsive power delivery
The result is a 993 that feels more eager, more flexible and considerably more enjoyable to drive on both road and track.
Includes the Latest Lightweight Flywheel (LWF) Software
If your vehicle has been fitted with an RS lightweight flywheel and clutch, the latest OE Match software incorporates the advanced Lightweight Flywheel Fix.
This programming:
- Eliminates lightweight flywheel stalling
- Prevents RPM dipping below idle during deceleration and gear changes
- Improves clutch engagement
- Reduces unnecessary clutch slip and wear
- Further enhances throttle response
The software is fully compatible with both standard and lightweight flywheel vehicles, and existing OE Match customers can update earlier chips to the latest LWF coding.
Optional Immobiliser / Driveblock Delete
This calibration can also be supplied with the Immobiliser / Driveblock function disabled for vehicles equipped with Porsche's factory Driveblock system.
Removing the Driveblock function eliminates the need to deactivate the immobiliser with the key fob before every journey, restoring the operation of the vehicle to that of a factory non-Driveblock model.
To complete the conversion, install jumper relay 96461018400 into relay position R61, exactly as Porsche specified for non-Driveblock vehicles.
Ordering Information
This calibration is suitable for:
- 1995-1998 Porsche 993 Varioram (European specification only)
- Bosch Motronic DME 0.261.203.678
- 55-pin DME connector
- Manual transmission or Tiptronic transmission
Before ordering, confirm the Bosch DME number printed on the Motronic label located on the DME beneath the left-hand front seat to ensure compatibility.
Why Choose OE Match?
Unlike generic replacement chips, every OE Match calibration has been extensively refined through dyno development and real-world road testing to deliver maximum performance while maintaining factory reliability.
The software is designed for 95 RON premium fuel as standard, with an optional 98 RON performance calibration available for owners regularly using higher-octane fuel. Every chip is engineered not to trigger the Check Engine Light and is backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
Benefits
Increased horsepower and torque Sharper throttle response Eliminates the factory sub-4,000 rpm hesitation Improved low and mid-range acceleration Supports lightweight flywheel conversions Optional Driveblock removal Improved everyday drivability 100% satisfaction guarantee

Suitable for both manual and Tiptronic transmissions, the OE Match Performance Chip delivers stronger low and mid-range torque, sharper throttle response and significantly improved acceleration while incorporating the latest Lightweight Flywheel (LWF) software.
Specifically Engineered for Lightweight Flywheel Conversions
An RS lightweight flywheel allows the engine to rev faster and respond more eagerly, but many conversions suffer from unstable idle, RPM dip and stalling during deceleration or when pulling away.
OE Match has developed one of the most advanced Lightweight Flywheel software solutions available to eliminate these common drivability issues while enhancing the benefits of the lighter rotating assembly.
The latest LWF calibration:
- Eliminates lightweight flywheel stalling
- Prevents RPM dropping below idle during deceleration and gear changes
- Improves clutch engagement from standstill
- Reduces unnecessary clutch slip, helping minimise clutch wear
- Maximises the sharper throttle response and faster engine acceleration provided by the lightweight flywheel
Former OE Match customers are welcome to have their chips updated free of charge to the latest Lightweight Flywheel coding.
Unlock the Hidden Performance of the Varioram Engine
The Porsche Varioram induction system already provides exceptional flexibility, but the factory Bosch Motronic calibration leaves noticeable performance untapped.
OE Match software removes the familiar hesitation below 4,000 rpm, allowing the engine to produce substantially stronger low and mid-range torque while delivering immediate throttle response throughout the rev range.
Performance benefits include:
- Increased horsepower and torque
- Sharper throttle response
- Eliminates the factory sub-4,000 rpm flat spot
- Improved acceleration throughout the rev range
- Faster engine response
- Smoother and more progressive power delivery
The result is a 993 that feels significantly more responsive and rewarding to drive in every situation.
Optional Immobiliser / Driveblock Delete
This chip can also be supplied with the Immobiliser / Driveblock function disabled for vehicles originally equipped with Porsche's factory Driveblock system.
Removing the Driveblock function eliminates the need to deactivate the immobiliser using the key fob before every journey, returning the vehicle to the operation of a factory non-Driveblock model.
To complete the conversion, install jumper relay 964.610.184.00 into relay position R61, exactly as Porsche specified.
