Turn signal flasher relay. 12 VOLT
Genuine Porsche 12-volt indicator flasher relay for the specified classic 911, 912 and 356 applications. It controls the switching cycle that makes the direction indicator lamps flash.
Fits
- Porsche 356 B/C M/CARRERA 2000GT 1960 - 1965
- Porsche 911 >>1968
What This Product Does
The flasher relay repeatedly switches the indicator circuit on and off while a direction signal is selected. This component serves the indicator lighting system; it is not the horn relay, despite appearing within the horn relay assembly diagram.
Functions
- Cycles the electrical supply to the direction indicator lamps.
- Provides the flashing action used when signalling a turn.

Symptoms of Fault
- Intermittent indicator operation.
- Relay activity without the expected lighting function.
- Corrosion, loose connections or heat damage around the relay socket.
Why Replacement Matters
Renewing a relay confirmed to be faulty can restore the indicator circuit's switching function. Inspect the fuse, terminals, wiring and earth connections first, as faults elsewhere in the circuit can produce similar symptoms. Replacing the relay alone will not resolve damaged wiring or poor socket contact.
FAQs
What should be checked before replacing the relay?
Inspect the fuse condition and specified rating, relay seating, connector condition and earth connections.
Can an intermittent fault come from a connection?
Yes. Loose or corroded terminals can interrupt the circuit, so the surrounding connections should be checked during diagnosis.
Does the 356 listing cover every electrical specification?
No. The supplied application identifies a 12-volt relay for M/CARRERA 2000GT models. Confirm the vehicle's voltage and existing relay specification rather than relying on the model name alone.
