What Does the Expansion Tank Coolant Hose Do?
The expansion tank coolant hose connects the coolant
expansion tank to the engine's cooling system, allowing coolant to circulate as
temperatures change during normal operation. It plays several important roles,
including:
- Allowing coolant to flow between the expansion tank and cooling system
- Maintaining correct coolant pressure
- Accommodating coolant expansion and contraction during heating and cooling cycles
- Helping remove trapped air from the cooling system
- Supporting stable engine operating temperatures
Without a properly functioning coolant hose, the cooling system cannot operate efficiently, increasing the risk of coolant loss and overheating.
Why Do Expansion Tank Coolant Hoses Fail?
Coolant hoses are exposed to continuous heat, pressure and
