Information
Door hinge plate / pad, Tin.
The striker plate provides a solid, fixed engagement surface for the door latch. When the door is closed, the latch hooks securely onto the striker, keeping the door firmly shut and aligned with the body.
Sold each, 4 required per vehicle.
Fits:
Porsche 911 2.0-3.3L 01/1963 - 07/1989
Porsche 912 1.6L 01/1965 - 02/1970
Porsche 964 3.3-3.6L 12/1988 - 06/1994
Porsche 993 3.6-3.8L 10/1993 - 09/1997
Diagram ref no 8
It mounts to the door pillar/jamb and serves as the receiver for the door latch mechanism, allowing the door to close firmly and remain securely locked during driving.
It is an ideal solution for repairs, restorations, or replacement of worn, damaged, or corroded original striker plates.
Function:
Installed on the door pillar/jamb, this striker plate:
• Ensures secure door closure and latch engagement
• Maintains proper door alignment and shut lines
• Helps eliminate door rattle and wind noise
• Works in conjunction with the original latch and locking mechanism.
Accurate positioning and durable construction help preserve smooth door operation and consistent closing feel.
A worn or deformed striker plate can lead to poor door closure, rattling, misalignment, or unreliable latching, which may also accelerate wear on the door latch itself. Replacing the striker with an OE Match component restores proper latch engagement, improves door feel, and helps maintain correct body alignment and sealing.
When to replace:
• Door does not close or latch cleanly
• Excessive play, rattling, or vibration when driving
• Visible wear, corrosion, or deformation
• During door latch or body repair
• As part of a classic Porsche restoration
