- Porsche 914 (1970-1976)
Outer Door Lock Actuator
Sold each - 2 required per car
This new reproduction replaces the plastic cam located within the exterior door-handle assembly.
Fits
- Porsche 914 1970–76
What This Product Does
The actuator transfers movement from the exterior handle to the door-opening mechanism. When the handle is operated, the cam applies the required movement to the latch mechanism so the door can be released from outside the vehicle.
Functions
- Links the exterior door handle with the opening mechanism
- Transfers handle movement to the door latch
- Replaces an aged, damaged or broken plastic cam
- Helps restore normal exterior door-handle operation
Technical Details
- Part number: 91453190500C
- Component type: exterior door-handle cam actuator
- Construction: plastic reproduction component
- Installation quantity: one actuator per door handle
- Vehicle quantity: two required per car
- Designed to fit onto part reference 22 in the relevant assembly diagram
Symptoms of Fault
- The exterior handle moves without releasing the door
- The door opens internally but not from the outside
- Intermittent operation of the exterior handle
- Visible cracking, distortion or breakage of the original plastic cam
- Excess movement within the exterior handle mechanism
Why Replacement Matters
Age and repeated operation can weaken the original plastic component. Replacing a worn or broken actuator restores the mechanical connection between the outer handle and latch, avoiding the need to replace the complete handle assembly when the cam is the source of the fault. Inspect the remaining handle mechanism, fixings and seals during installation for wear or damage.
FAQs
- How many actuators are required?
One is fitted to each exterior door handle, so two are required for a complete vehicle. - Does this replace the complete door handle?
No. It is the plastic cam actuator used inside the outer door-handle mechanism. - Can this resolve a door that will not open externally?
It may correct the problem when the existing cam is cracked or broken. Check the latch and other handle components before confirming the cause. - Is it suitable for every Porsche 914 model year?
The supplied application covers Porsche 914 models from 1970 to 1976.
