The Fabspeed Competition Race Exhaust System is an extreme lightweight, maximum-flow exhaust solution developed for the twin-turbocharged Porsche 911 993 Turbo, Turbo S and GT2.
Fits:
- Porsche 993 (911) TURBO 1994-96
- Porsche 993 (911) GT2 1994-97
- Porsche 993 (911) TURBO S 1994-97
Inspired by the exhaust layout and sound of the legendary Porsche Motorsport 993 GT2 and GT2 EVO race cars, the system replaces the heavy and restrictive factory rear exhaust arrangement with compact straight-through race outlets positioned directly after the twin turbochargers.
By dramatically shortening the exhaust path and eliminating the large factory silencer system, the Fabspeed Competition Race Exhaust reduces backpressure after the turbochargers, decreases rear-mounted weight and produces an exceptionally direct motorsport exhaust note.
The system is manufactured from high-quality 14–16 gauge T304L stainless steel using CNC mandrel-bent tubing for smooth exhaust flow and long-term durability under demanding competition conditions.
Fabspeed states that the system saves over 80 lb / 36.4 kg compared with the factory exhaust arrangement, removing substantial mass from the rearmost area of the vehicle.
Fabspeed also describes noticeably faster turbo response and cites a 40+ HP performance benefit in its detailed feature information. However, the current specification panel lists horsepower and torque figures as TBD, so a fixed power increase should not be regarded as guaranteed.
What This Product Does:
The Competition Race Exhaust replaces the standard rear exhaust arrangement with an extremely short and unrestricted exhaust path from the twin turbochargers.
It is designed to:
- Reduce exhaust backpressure.
- Improve exhaust gas evacuation after the turbochargers.
- Improve throttle response.
- Help the turbochargers respond more quickly.
- Support increased engine performance.
- Remove substantial rear-mounted weight.
- Produce an authentic GT2 / GT2 EVO-inspired race-car sound.
- Reduce exhaust-system complexity.
- Provide maximum-flow competition exhaust routing.
- Work with or without compatible factory-style exhaust tips.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
The system contains no conventional muffler internals to deteriorate, but the pipes, flanges and welded joints remain exposed to severe heat, vibration and engine movement.
Possible symptoms of deterioration include:
- Exhaust ticking.
- Blowing noises.
- Visible exhaust leaks.
- Black soot around joints.
- Cracked welds.
- Cracked tubing.
- Damaged flanges.
- Loose fasteners.
- Excessive movement.
- Metallic rattling.
- Dented or crushed tubing.
- Unexpected changes in exhaust sound.
- Increased exhaust fumes.
- Heat damage to surrounding components.
Why Replacement Matters:
Replacing a cracked, leaking or physically damaged Competition Race Exhaust helps restore:
- Correct exhaust sealing.
- Maximum-flow pipe geometry.
- Low post-turbo restriction.
- Proper alignment.
- Structural integrity.
- Safe containment of hot exhaust gases.
- Consistent turbo response.
- Correct competition exhaust sound.
Because the system operates immediately downstream of the turbochargers, maintaining its structural condition is particularly important.
