Big and Tall Porsche 911 extended stalks to make the driving experience better. We add 1" or 2" spacers to make the driving position fit our height, but the stalks end up being too far away. We have design some sweet slotted CNC Aluminium, black hard anodized stalks that reset your stalks to the right closer position. Get out and drive with these stalks on G-Body Porsche 911s from 1975 thru 1989 Carreras and Porsche 964 (includes new plungers). Easy install, replaces the plastic stock stalks.
Note: If you have replacement switches from URO there may need to be a small tweak to the turn signal stalk for fitment.
Please note: This part is on special order terms. Delivery time is normally 8-10 weeks. It is not a subject to cancellation or return if not required.

What Does the Wiper Stalk Column Switch Top Half Cover Do?
The upper steering column cover forms part of the steering column shroud surrounding the wiper and indicator switch assembly.
Its primary functions include:
- Protecting the steering column switch mechanism from dirt and accidental damage.
- Concealing wiring and electrical connections for a tidy factory appearance.
- Providing a mounting location for the upper section of the steering column trim.
- Helping keep the steering column assembly correctly aligned.
- Completing the original appearance of the dashboard and steering column.
Although it is not an electrical component, the cover is essential for protecting the switchgear and maintaining the finished appearance of the interior.
Why Does the Steering Column Cover Fail?
After decades of use, the original plastic cover can become worn or damaged.
Common causes include:
- Cracking caused by age and UV exposure.
- Damage during steering wheel or switch removal.
- Broken mounting tabs or fixing points.
- Scratches and wear from regular use.
- Heat-related warping or fading.
- Previous repairs or incorrect installation.
A damaged steering column cover can leave the switch assembly exposed and detract from the appearance of an otherwise well-maintained interior.
When Should It Be Replaced?
Replacement is recommended when:
- The original cover is cracked or broken.
- Mounting tabs have failed.
- The surface is scratched, faded or heavily worn.
- Replacing or servicing the steering column switch assembly.
- Restoring the vehicle's interior to factory specification.
- Completing a concours-quality restoration.
Replacing worn steering column trim helps restore the original finish of the cockpit while protecting the switch assembly beneath.

Indicator / Wiper Stalk Switches – Precision Control for Porsche Vehicles
Indicator and wiper stalk switches are key components of your Porsche’s steering column controls, managing essential driving functions such as turn signals, wipers, headlight flash, and sometimes cruise control. These multifunction switches provide seamless control at your fingertips, ensuring safe and convenient operation in all driving conditions.
At Design911, we offer a complete range of genuine and quality indicator and wiper stalk switches for Porsche models - including 911, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Macan, and Panamera. Each switch assembly is manufactured to exact specifications for perfect fitment, durability, and reliable performance.
What Do
Indicator / Wiper Stalk Switches Do?
Mounted on the steering column, these stalk
switches allow drivers to activate multiple functions without removing their
hands from the wheel. Depending on the vehicle model, a stalk may control:
- Turn signals and hazard lights for safe lane changes and signalling.
- Windscreen wipers and washers for clear visibility.
- Headlight beam and flash functions.
- Cruise control or trip computer functions (on certain models).
These controls are ergonomically designed for intuitive use and play a critical role in driver safety and convenience.
Why Do Indicator / Wiper Stalk Switches Fail?
Over time, these frequently used switches can
wear out mechanically or electrically due to:
- Repeated use and mechanical fatigue causing broken contacts or worn pivots.
- Moisture or dust ingress leading to corrosion and poor electrical contact.
- Internal short circuits or cracked solder joints.
- Loose or worn detents causing the stalk to feel sloppy or fail to engage.
- Age-related material degradation in plastic components.
Common symptoms of failure include non-functioning indicators or wipers, intermittent operation, headlight flash issues, or the stalk feeling loose or unresponsive.
Why Replace Faulty Indicator / Wiper Stalk Switches?
A worn or malfunctioning stalk switch not only affects convenience but can also compromise safety by disabling critical systems such as indicators or wipers. Replacing the faulty component ensures reliable operation and proper communication with your vehicle’s electronic control systems.
Benefits of replacing include:
- Restored operation of indicators, wipers, and lighting controls.
- Improved driving safety and comfort.
- Smooth, responsive stalk movement.
- OEM-quality reliability and longevity.
Each replacement switch is designed to fit and function exactly like the original, maintaining your Porsche’s precision feel and ensuring dependable performance in all conditions.
