The handbrake cables connect the handbrake mechanism to the rear parking brake assemblies. Pulling the handbrake lever tensions the cables, mechanically applying the parking brake at the rear wheels.
This set contains two replacement cables, providing the components required to renew both sides of the vehicle.

Why Replace the Handbrake Cables?
Handbrake cables can deteriorate through age, corrosion, contamination and repeated operation. The inner cable can become stiff or seized, while stretching can reduce the effectiveness of the parking brake.
Common symptoms include:
- Excessive handbrake lever travel
- Parking brake does not hold securely
- Handbrake operation feels stiff
- One rear brake applies differently from the other
- Cable is corroded, damaged or seized
- Parking brake adjustment cannot be achieved correctly.
Replacing both cables together helps provide consistent operation across the rear axle.
