Custom Seat Kits for Your Classic Car
The Hockenheim uses a lightweight, protected steel tube frame combined with fire-resistant foam and duralastic support belts.
The duralastic belt construction provides supportive but controlled flexibility, helping deliver a firm driving position without sacrificing comfort on longer journeys, rallies and events.
The frame also incorporates openings for lap belts, with plastic seat belt grommets available if required.
Hockenheim – Inspired by Classic Motorsport
Named after Germany's famous Hockenheimring circuit, the Hockenheim seat takes inspiration from the sports and competition seats fitted to some of Europe's most celebrated performance cars.
Its design was influenced by the Scheel 300, a seat strongly associated with competition BMWs of the period and also chosen by Porsche for the legendary 914/6 GT competition cars.
The Hockenheim recreates this distinctive period style while incorporating features suited to today's classic car enthusiast, including high lateral support, additional knee support, lap belt openings and duralastic suspension for improved comfort.
Porsche 914 & 914/6 GT Applications
The Hockenheim is particularly well suited to Porsche 914 and 914/6 GT-inspired builds, with the seat frame designed to match the mounting arrangement of the original 914 seat bracket.
This makes it an excellent choice for owners creating a period-inspired 914 interior, competition-style restoration or road car with increased seat support.
Optional Hockenheim Headrest
An optional distinctive headrest is available to further personalise the Hockenheim seat.
Its period-inspired shape complements the classic competition appearance and provides an additional finishing detail for customers looking to create a distinctive interior.
Why Choose a Seat Frame Kit?
Buying a seat frame kit gives you greater control over the finished appearance of your interior.
Your chosen upholstery specialist can finish the seats alongside the rest of the vehicle interior, allowing the leather, vinyl, cloth, stitching, piping and colours to be coordinated with door cards, carpets and other trim.
It is an ideal solution for classic restorations where originality, personalisation and a consistent interior finish are equally important.
Classic Car Seat Frame Kits & Custom Sports Seats
Retro Trim seat frame kits provide a versatile starting point for classic Porsche restorations, historic motorsport-inspired builds and bespoke classic car interiors.
From period-style road seats to supportive competition-inspired designs, these seat kits allow owners to combine classic styling with modern materials, improved lateral support and personalised upholstery.
The Hockenheim is particularly suited to customers searching for a Scheel-style classic sports seat, Porsche 914/6 GT seat, classic Porsche competition seat or custom upholstered classic car seat.

Custom Seat Kits for Your Classic Car
Each Hockenheim seat is handmade around a lightweight, protected steel tube frame. Fire-resistant foam provides the seat shape and cushioning, while duralastic support belts provide a comfortable yet supportive driving position.
This version is intended for cars using standard 3-point seatbelts.
The steel tube frame incorporates lap/waist belt openings, allowing greater flexibility should the seat specification be changed in the future. However, this standard seatbelt version does not include the rosettes/grommets required for a 5-point harness installation.
Hockenheim – Inspired by Classic Motorsport
Named after Germany's famous Hockenheimring circuit, the Hockenheim takes its inspiration from the sports seats found in some of Europe's most recognisable competition cars.
The design is influenced by the classic Scheel 300, a seat closely associated with period BMW competition cars and also used by Porsche for the 914/6 GT competition cars.
The Hockenheim captures this distinctive classic sports seat appearance while incorporating features designed for today's enthusiast, including high lateral and knee support together with duralastic suspension for greater comfort on longer drives.
Porsche 914 & 914/6 GT Inspired Seating
The Hockenheim is particularly suited to Porsche 914 restorations and 914/6 GT-inspired builds.
Its steel tube frame is designed to match the mounting arrangement of the original Porsche 914 seat bracket, making it an excellent choice for owners seeking a period-style sports seat with improved support.
Although inspired by competition seating, this particular kit is configured for cars retaining standard 3-point seatbelts, making it especially suitable for road-going classic cars.
Optional Hockenheim Headrest
An optional Hockenheim headrest can be specified to further personalise the finished seat.
Its distinctive period-inspired design complements the shape of the seat and provides an additional finishing touch for classic and motorsport-inspired interiors.
Why Choose a Retro Trim Seat Frame Kit?
Purchasing the seat as a frame kit gives you greater control over the finished interior.
Your local upholstery specialist can trim the seats alongside your door cards and other interior components, allowing materials, stitching, piping and colours to be coordinated throughout the car.
It also avoids the need to transport completed upholstered seats between specialists, making the kit particularly convenient for complete classic car restoration projects.
Classic Car Seat Frame Kits for Standard 3-Point Seatbelts
Retro Trim seat frame kits provide a versatile solution for classic car owners wanting period styling, improved support and the freedom to choose their own upholstery.
The Hockenheim is particularly suited to classic Porsche and 914 applications where the original 3-point seatbelt system is being retained.
With its Scheel-inspired appearance, tubular steel construction, supportive shape and custom upholstery options, it provides an excellent foundation for road-going restorations and period motorsport-inspired interiors.
