CP-Carrillo connecting rods are fully machined from a proprietary 4330m alloy forging for strength and durability. Rods are available with Pro-H 1/4 upgraded bolt with a UTS of 285ksi. The CARR upgraded bolt is a good choice if planning on revving the engine higher than 8500rpm.
All our bolts are manufactured with asymmetrical threads, each thread has a slightly different design than the previous giving the bolts an evenly distributed thread engagement. This helps increasing the clamp load and fatigue life of the fasteners

CP-Carrillo Connecting Rods - Motorsport-Grade Porsche Engine Internals
CP-Carrillo Connecting Rods (con rods) are precision-engineered, high-strength engine components designed to withstand extreme cylinder pressures, high RPM, and sustained performance use. Manufactured using advanced forging or billet machining processes, CP-Carrillo rods are trusted in motorsport and high-power Porsche engine builds worldwide.
Available from Design911, CP-Carrillo connecting rods provide exceptional strength, fatigue resistance, and dimensional accuracy—forming a critical foundation for reliable, high-output Porsche engines.
What Do CP-Carrillo Connecting Rods Do?
Connecting rods link the piston to the crankshaft, converting combustion force into rotational motion.
Core Functions:
- Transfer combustion forces from piston to crankshaft.
- Maintain precise piston movement and engine geometry.
- Withstand extreme tensile and compressive loads.
- Support high RPM and increased power output.
- Ensure bottom-end stability and reliability.
High-quality connecting rods are essential for safe and consistent engine performance.
Why Do Standard Connecting Rods Fail?
Factory connecting rods are engineered for standard power
levels and road use. Failure can occur when engines are pushed beyond their
design limits due to:
- Increased cylinder pressure from tuning or forced induction.
- High RPM stretching or bending standard rods.
- Metal fatigue from repeated heat cycles.
- Detonation causing shock loads through the rotating assembly.
- Insufficient strength for motorsport or track conditions.
Rod failure often leads to catastrophic engine damage, including block and crankshaft destruction.
Why Upgrade to CP-Carrillo Connecting Rods?
CP-Carrillo connecting rods are engineered to exceed the demands of high-performance engines.
Upgrade Benefits:
- Forged or billet steel construction for maximum strength.
- Exceptional resistance to bending and tensile failure.
- Precision machining for perfect balance and fitment.
- Ideal for turbocharged, supercharged, and race engines.
- Proven reliability in professional motorsport applications.
Upgrading to CP-Carrillo rods provides confidence, durability, and safety in high-output Porsche engine builds.
